Definition

Current collector and structural frame for active material. Grid alloy composition (Pb-Ca, Pb-Sb, Pb-Ca-Sn) determines mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, gassing rate, and cycling performance. Grid design (expanded metal vs gravity cast) affects current distribution and manufacturing cost.

Construction & Design

Gravity casting, expanded metal, or continuous Concast process. Grid thickness: 1.2-4.0mm depending on battery type. Radial grid design improves current collection.
